Peas for Éloïse

Here's a little something I wrote years ago after feeding my daughter (six months at the time) a bowl full of mashed peas. I should have known then she'd be a handful.

Peas for Éloïse

Éloïse said “Please” to a plateful of peas.

With a mouthful of these, she let out a sneeze!

Mom wiped up the mess

From Éloïse’s face and her dress.

“Geez, Éloïse, please don’t sneeze.

Especially not when you eat green peas.

Mom begged, “Hold it in, could you?”

But Éloïse let out another “AAAAACCCCCHHHHHOOOO!”
